The ice arena in Kopřivnice, located near the town centre, represents a key part of the local sports infrastructure, with a history dating back to the 1960s. The proposed study responds to the need for a comprehensive modernization of the building, with the aim of ensuring its long-term sustainability, increasing technical and operational efficiency, improving user comfort, and providing barrier-free accessibility.

A central element of the study is a café integrated with the reception area, which forms the social and circulation hub of the arena. This intervention transforms the building from a purely sports facility into a community-oriented centre, offering space for meeting, relaxation, and cultural activities. Transparent visual connections between the corridors, foyer, and sports areas enhance the openness of the building and contribute to the lively atmosphere of the sports centre.
