Fire station

The competition proposal for the fire station responds sensitively to the surrounding development and respects the existing urban structure. The building is divided into two separate volumes, a garage area with its facilities and a community and administrative area. This solution preserves pedestrian connectivity through the site while also allowing convenient access to the adjacent plot.

The architecture of the building is based on the principles of simplicity, functionality and a clear architectural expression. The minimalist design emphasizes the character of the public building and creates a dignified façade facing the public realm. The glazed gable ends gradually open views into the interior, allowing passers-by a glimpse into the everyday life of the fire station. At the rear of the site, a semi-public space for relaxation is provided, incorporating a water feature that serves as an open retention basin and, when needed, as a fire water reservoir.

The internal layout of the building is designed with an emphasis on clarity and operational efficiency. The individual functions are logically organized into three main zones – the garage, changing rooms and operational facilities. The exterior combines metal cladding and glazing in a clean white finish, complemented by red accents that reference the identity of the fire service.
