The project of a weekend house in the small village of Radoškov harmoniously combines traditional architectural elements with a contemporary approach to design and functionality. The building is positioned to take full advantage of the site’s natural qualities – a southwest orientation ensures that the living spaces are filled with warm sunlight, while the northern part of the plot remains open for garden landscaping. The layout preserves privacy towards the street, while opening generously towards the garden through large glazed surfaces.

The massing strategy of the house is based on contrast – the main living volume, with its rectangular plan and pitched roof, evokes traditional rural architecture, while the ancillary spaces, embedded into the terrain, take on a modern, cubic form. Due to the sloping topography, the secondary volume becomes partially subterranean, allowing for efficient use of space and a natural integration of the building into the landscape. Extensive green roofs on the ancillary volumes and terraces reinforce the ecological character of the design.

The house is functionally designed as a weekend retreat, offering not only comfortable living facilities with a bedroom, living area, and bathroom, but also practical and relaxation-oriented features such as a sauna, relaxation room, utility room, and an attic study. The exterior materials – timber and stone cladding – reference the traditional character of recreational cabins, while exposed concrete gives the building a contemporary expression.
